Cargill Limited Recognized as one of “Canada’s Best Diversity Employers” for 2015

Cargill Limited’s commitment to creating a diverse and inclusive work environment was recognized for the third year in a row at the 2015 Canada’s Best Diversity Employers awards presentation.

Canada’s Best Diversity Employers recognizes employers with exceptional workplace diversity and inclusiveness programs and initiatives for employees in the following five groups: Women; members of visible minorities; persons with disabilities; aboriginal peoples; and lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered/transsexual (LGBT) peoples.

Cargill Limited was selected as one of Canada’s Best Diversity Employers 2015 for establishing the Inclusion and Diversity Council, which implements initiatives to ensure an environment of inclusiveness across all of its Business Units, as well as maintaining an Ebony Council, to promote the inclusion of Black/African-American employees, the Rainbow Alliance/Pride Network, and the Asia America Alliance.

In addition, Cargill Limited was recognized for the following:

  • Maintaining an Employment Equity Committee and managing an employment equity champion award program to recognize employee contributions to promote diversity and inclusion awareness
  • Managing a unique reverse mentoring program called Mentor Up to help senior leaders increase their understanding of various dimensions of diversity, such as gender and ethnicity
  • Establishing the Cargill Women's Council to support the advancement of female employees within the organization -- membership is open to North American employees who serve a three-year term on the council
